How To Listen

Whatever method you use, listening to Glass City Humanist is FREE!!

What is a podcast?

Simply put: a podcast is an audio program, just like Talk Radio, but you subscribe to it on your smartphone and listen to it whenever you like.

In a little more detail, a podcast is a series of spoken word, audio episodes, all focused on a particular topic or theme, like cycling or startups. There are even podcasts that are sitcoms, romance, or drama works of fiction.

You can subscribe to the show with an app on your phone and listen to episodes whenever you like on your headphones, in the car or through speakers.

They can be any length, from a 1 minute news snippet, to a 3 hour in-depth interview.

They can be any frequency, from daily to monthly

They can be any format, from simple solo shows up to mammoth, multi-person audio dramas

They can cover ANY topic, many of which would never make it onto radio

How to Listen to Glass City Humanist:

The most convenient way to listen to a podcast, long term, is through your smartphone. Practically every device on the market has at least one way to listen, and most phones have many! So, if you have a smartphone in your pocket, you already have an ideal podcast listening platform right you.

iPhones have Apple Podcasts built in and Android phones have Google Podcasts available. There are other apps you can put on your phone to find and keep track of podcasts you like.

A couple of apps I’ve used are Pocket Cast and Overcast.

When you find a podcast you like you can “subscribe” to it and then when a new episode is released you will get a notification on your phone or in your podcast app of choice.

You can also easily listen to the show through our website where we have a player embedded on the front page. There are also links to the show notes where we provide more information about the episode like additional links used in the show.
